Terms of Service

Who Can Use TaskToCompletion

• You must be at least 18 years old
• If you're under 18, you need parental or guardian consent
• You must be legally able to enter into binding contracts
• You must not be banned from using the service

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the new terms.

You Agree To:

• Comply with YouTube's Terms of Service
• Follow YouTube's Community Guidelines
• Only create projects from videos you have permission to use
• Respect copyright and intellectual property rights of video creators
• Not use TaskToCompletion to download, redistribute, or share YouTube videos
• Not circumvent any YouTube access controls or restrictions

What TaskToCompletion Does NOT Do:

• Download or store YouTube videos
• Provide access to YouTube videos outside of YouTube
• Enable redistribution of YouTube content
• Circumvent YouTube's access restrictions or paywalls

YouTube Content Ownership

• YouTube videos remain the property of their creators
• Transcripts are derived from publicly available data
• You must respect all copyright and intellectual property rights
• TaskToCompletion does not claim ownership of YouTube content

TaskToCompletion Platform Ownership

• TaskToCompletion owns all rights to the platform, code, and AI technology
• Our logo, name, and branding are our trademarks
• You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from our platform

Your Project Data Ownership

• You own your project data: Tasks, notes, and chat conversations you create
• We own AI-generated content: Task summaries generated by our AI from YouTube transcripts
• License to us: You grant us a license to store, process, and display your data to provide the service
• You can export: Download your data at any time in JSON format

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Using strong, unique passwords
• Enabling two-factor authentication (recommended)

Account Information

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your account information up to date
• You may not impersonate others or create fake accounts
• One account per person (no account sharing)

No Uptime Guarantee

We strive for high availability, but we do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted access to the service
• Error-free operation
• Defect-free code
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers

Service Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify features or functionality at any time
• Perform scheduled maintenance (with advance notice when possible)
• Discontinue features or the entire service with 30 days notice
• Temporarily suspend service for emergency maintenance

Third-Party Dependencies

TaskToCompletion relies on third-party services (YouTube, OpenAI, etc.). We are not responsible for:

• Changes to YouTube's API or transcript availability
• OpenAI service disruptions or rate limits
• Third-party service outages or policy changes

Your Right to Terminate

You may delete your account at any time by:

• Going to Settings → Delete Account
• Following the account deletion process
• All your data will be permanently deleted within 7 days
• You have a 7-day grace period to cancel the deletion

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Violate YouTube's Terms of Service
• Create projects with prohibited content
• Abuse the service or harm other users
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Have unpaid fees (when billing is implemented)

Termination Process

If we terminate your account:

• We'll notify you via email with the reason
• You'll have 7 days to export your data (unless terminated for legal reasons)
• All your data will be permanently deleted after the grace period
• No refunds for partial billing periods (when applicable)

What We're NOT Liable For

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Data loss: Loss of projects, tasks, or any data (please back up important data)
• Service interruptions: Downtime, errors, or unavailability
• AI inaccuracies: Errors in AI-generated content or task summaries
• Third-party issues: YouTube API changes, OpenAI disruptions, etc.
• Indirect damages: Lost profits, lost business, lost opportunities
• Consequential damages: Any damages beyond direct damages
• User content: Content you or other users create or share

Maximum Liability Cap

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of TaskToCompletion is limited to:

• The amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim
• Or $100 USD, whichever is greater
• (When billing is implemented; currently the service is in beta/trial)

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal Resolution First

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us at legal@tasktocompletion.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We'll work with you in good faith to find a solution.

Arbitration Agreement

If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you agree to resolve it through binding arbitration instead of court, except for:

• Small claims court disputes (under $10,000)
• Intellectual property disputes
• Injunctive relief for violations

Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.

Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action, consolidated action, or representative action.

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TaskToCompletion and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision in these terms is not a waiver of that right or provision. All waivers must be in writing and signed by both parties.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these terms or your account to anyone else. We may assign our rights and obligations to any party without your consent.
